  • Do we have to use a funeral director?

No, but we would recommend that you do as your loved one will need to be cared for between the time of death until the burial.

  • Can we choose the position of the grave?

It is not possible to choose a particular location when purchasing a pre paid plot.

    See T&C's 5.

  • Is it possible to reserve the grave beside?

It is not possible to choose a particular location when purchasing a pre paid plot unless the plot has to be adjacent to an already interred spouse.  See T&C's 5.

  • Are there any ongoing charges or expenses?

Yes, the right to burial is for a period of 25 years which can be extended by another 25 years with the purchase of an extension of time in 5 year intervals to a maximum of 50 years in total with a charge of £50 per 5 year interval.

    See T&C's 6.

  • Do we own the grave?

No, just the exclusive right of burial.

"Grant of the Right of Burial" means the licence owner has the sole right to say who is buried in the plot, be it another person or themself, however they do not own the land or plot itself.

    See T&C's 4.
